The will and desire to make a difference in the World has just become a more reachable reality.   Recently on Feb. 15, Georgia Perimeter College opened the Atlanta Center for Civic Engagement and Service-Learning.  The center is the only in the nation of its kind.   Its purpose and mission is no secret; its name reflects just what the center is for - civic engagement and service-learning.

Located on the college's Clarkston Campus, the new center is not only open to students on and beyond its campuses; but it is also open to students World Wide.  While students are giving a helping hand to execute local, national, and global community projects, the Atlanta CESL will also offer them a helping hand by providing service-learning scholarships and grants.   It will enable students to make a difference in their communities and in the Global community.   There are no geographic boundaries to its benefits.

Among a number of things, the Atlanta Center is serving to improve education, to overcome poverty, and to create healthy communities.  The new center is equipped with a full resource library and several databases to assist all people who want to make a difference in the World and get engage in their local communities.  It is equipped with tools and resources for use in civic engagement and service-learning.  It also provides training for students, citizens, and educators of any nation and of any education level.  The new Atlanta Center for Civic Engagement and Service-Learning is what's right with Atlanta.
